I love Bonaire. Really, I do really love Bonaire! This is the place on the world where I dream to settle down if I do not need to work for my money anymore.

Until then we’ll just keep visiting Bonaire always when it is time for ultimate relaxing vacation as we understand is relaxing for us. We could not enjoy „doing nothing“ that is just not us. Scuba diving is an excellent hobby of doing something which is at the same time so very much wonderful. Even you must know that diving makes you tired. I mean really tired. That there collects so much nitrogen in your body after multiple dives during several days. Just as an example; in the morning after 5 diving days I was able to do in the morning only 6 push up’s. We took then off from diving that day and did something else. In the afternoon I could do again 20 push up’s and next morning 26. That means that my body was running with only about 20%!

Best part of diving on Bonaire, beside that is has the most beautiful reefs that you can imagine, is that you dive the individually with your dive buddy from the shore. Bonaire is The shore diving destination in the whole world and is made so easy. You have you pick up car where you have your gear on, you just drive along the road, hold on one of the with a yellow stones marked 60 dive sites, check if there are not too many other cars, park the car, get the gear on, walk into water and have fun! There is no time schedule , no dive boat leaving the peer at 9 a.m. or what so ever. If you are jet lacked from Europe and get up early then no need to wait! You can do an early morning dive just like we love to do and have your breakfast after it 🙂
There are also dive operators that offer also boat diving. For some in-understandable reason the Americans prefer boat diving before shore diving even for me it appears like now more and more Americans also find out the outstanding advantages of shore diving. It’s just awesome to have the dive spot all for yourself (unlike when you dive with the other 12 from your boat), have your own schedule, choose yourself the dive site you want to dive and maybe after the dive enjoy refreshing drink in some of the lovely local bars.

Bonaire belongs to Netherlands, that now again after 10.10.-10. KLM has daily direct connections from Amsterdam, United fly in on Saturdays. Even politically Europe they use there USD which is currently very convenient to me as the Swiss Franc is so high against USD. Still Bonaire is not cheap, Caribbean rarely is.. Ordinarily dinner for two costs something between 100 and 120 dollars which is about the same than in Switzerland. But you get excellent food for that. In particular my favourites since years are It rains fishes, Will’s, Bistro de Paris, Casablanca, 4 seasons and the most best rips in the whole world are in The ribs factory. I could kill for those rips! A new restaurant Spice that is not fully ready yet is at the Eden Beach. The catch of the day there was very delicious and we had great fun Benji and Harry rocking us on Wednesday nights 🙂

Veranda and some photos shoot from the veranda… Unfortunately I never managed to get nice photos of dolphins jumping. They always looked just like tiny gray dots but sitting on the veranda and seeing that was awesome!
